How to Access FAU Canvas

To gain access to fau canvas,

  1. Go to https://canvas.fau.edu/login/canvas.
  2. Enter your email address or login ID.
  3. Please enter your password.
  4. Click the login button.
  5. If you have an FAU email address, go to canvas.fau.edu and enter your FAUNet ID and password to log in.

MyFAU Portal

MyFAU is the student web portal at Florida Atlantic University. It is a web-based application that provides consolidated access to e-mail, calendars, administrative services, classroom resources, and information. You will get access to all of these services and more with a single username and password.

To access MyFAU, navigate to myfau.fau.edu in a web browser. Select MYFAU. Enter your FAUNetID and password to gain access.

Accounts and FAUNet ID

The FAUNet ID is the account name you use to log in to many of the systems you will use at Florida Atlantic University, and it is part of your official FAU e-mail address (for example, [email protected]). For the majority of its apps, FAU employs single-sign-on. This means that as a student, faculty member, or staff member, you will use the same FAUNet ID and password for most of the apps you can use.

When you are admitted to FAU, your FAUNet ID is generated. Before you may use your new FAUNet ID to access any of FAU’s services, you must first activate it by accessing the FAU Account Self-Services page.

The initial FAUNetID (username) cannot be changed. The only exceptions are if a spelling issue in your name affected the FAUNet ID assigned to you, or if you have legally changed your name. You must have recorded your legal name change in the university’s database before altering your FAUNet ID.

Faculty and staff should contact Human Resources, while students should contact the Registrar’s Office. You can request an FAUNet ID change once your name has been officially changed by filing an FAUNet ID Change request.

How to Get Your FAUNet ID

  1. Navigate to accounts.fau.edu and click the “Activate your FAUNet ID” button.
  2. You will be warned that once you start, you must finish the activation process. When you’re ready, click Proceed.
  3. Enter your last name, FAUNetID, and birth date. Click the Continue button. (If you don’t remember your FAUNetID, go back to the home page and select “Lookup your FAUNet ID.”) Check the box and finish the CAPTCHA task. To proceed, click Continue.
  4. Select the home address you gave on your application by clicking the drop down arrow.
  5. You have the option of entering your phone number for future password resets or clicking Opt-Out. After entering a phone number, click Update.
  6. Enter your personal email address and press enter to confirm. Click the Update button. The recovery email address can not be your FAU email address.
  7. Look for the verification email in your personal email account. “FAU Account Activation Link” is the subject line.
  8. Click the “Confirm Recovery Email” button in the email.
  9. To finish activation, click Continue.
  10. Select the home address you gave on your application by clicking the drop down arrow.
  11. Enter and validate your new password.
  12. Wait a moment for the password to synchronize across the platforms.
  13. When it’s finished, you’ll notice “Your password has been saved.”

Account creation

During the initial activation of your FAU account, you will be prompted to give a recovery email address if you are new to FAU. You can optionally provide a text-enabled (SMS) cell phone number to which you will get a verification code if you need to reset your password in the future.

Account already in existence

If you already have an FAU account, you can use the “Forgot your Password” self-service function on the FAU Account Self-Services page if you have set up a recovery email address or SMS (text) enabled phone number. This eliminates the need to contact the OIT Help Desk for a password reset.

Visit the FAU Accounts Services portal and click on the “Manage Your Account” tile to add a recovery email or SMS (text) phone number to your account. Log in using your FAUNet ID and current password, and then click “Change” in the Password Recovery Options box.

You will be able to use the “Forgot Your Password” self-service function by supplying your FAUNet ID after the recovery options have been enabled to your account.
