You can update your information and apply for Program Leave, Deferral, or Discontinuation through the UNSW online portal. You can also look at your fee statement, class schedule, exam schedule, results, and academic statement.

How to access myUNSW

To sign in to the online portal for UNSW

  1. Navigate to my.unsw.edu.au.
  2. In the top right corner of the page, click “Sign On.”
  3. Click “Agree and Sign On” on the Sign-On page.
  4. On the new page, enter your username like this: [email protected]
  5. Enter password when prompted
  6. If you own this device or use it every day, click “Yes” to stay signed in to this device. If this is not your usual device, click “No” to make sure no one else can get into your account.

You can now access myUNSW. You’ll stay signed in automatically for up to 12 hours, or 8 hours if you need a break. After that, you’ll need to click “Agree and Sign On” to keep going. If this isn’t your usual computer, make sure to completely close the web browser when you’re done.

How to sign off

Always remember to log out of myUNSW by clicking the Log Out button in the upper right corner of each tab (i.e. Home, My Student Profile, etc).

Remember to shut all browser tabs and windows if you have more than one open to verify that you are logged out of all Single Sign-On applications (if applicable).

How to log in as a new user to myUNSW

You must have a valid User ID (Student Number) and password as a new student.

This applies to you if you are a first-year student who has not accepted the offer or is in the process of accepting the offer but has not yet registered for a class or course.

Acceptance is accepted online.

  1. Activate your zID in the AcceptOnline/IDM interface.
  2. Click Login to access the login page.
  3. Enter both your zID and your password.
  4. Click Accept and log in.

Registering with MyUNSW

  1. Open myUNSW
  2. Click “Sign In” in the upper-right corner of the page.
  3. Select New Student Sign-In
  4. Provide your zID and Password.
  5. Click “Accept” and log in.

If you repeatedly attempt to log in with an incorrect User ID or password, you will be locked out. If the system has locked you out, you must contact the IT Service Centre.

How to change your password for myUNSW

  1. Proceed to the UNSW Identity Manager.
  2. Choose “Change Password.”
  3. Enter your zID and password into the User ID and Password fields, respectively.
  4. Select “Sign In.”
  5. Click the Change Password button on the Welcome to UNSW Identity Manager Self-Service screen.
  6. Enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm Password sections of the Change Password window, then click Change Password.

Resetting your forgotten password

  1. Visit the UNSW Identity Manager website.
  2. Select I Have Lost My Password
  3. When the Identify User screen appears, answer the displayed questions. (These questions and answers were created when you initially set up your password.)
  4. Select the Sign In button.
  5. Enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password areas of the Change Password popup.
  6. Click the option labeled Change Password.
