Various Other Factors
As stated previously, UNG D2L Help refers to the Technology & D2L Help page. It indicates that this page contains not only D2L help but also solutions to common technical issues. The following can be found on the page:
- Connectivity to Campus Resources
Here is a link you can click to learn more about the Remote Learning Toolbox for Students: https://ung.edu/information-technology/remote/remote-learning-toolbox-for-students.php. Here is where you can access the IT Knowledgebase for assistance. Here is where you can tap to download the official UNG app.
- Obtaining Internet Services

- Technology requirements
The students must have access to a computer with video and audio capabilities in order to participate fully in all classes and take exams. UNG IT-Approved Dell laptops, webcams, and accessories are now available for purchase in UNG-owned bookstores.
The UNG minimum computer requirements are as follows: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster x86-bit or x64-bit processor (CPU); 2 GB RAM (memory); 80 GB Hard Drive (hard disk); 1024 x 768 screen resolution (display); DirectX 10 Graphics Card or higher (graphics); Windows 7 or later (operating system); the most recent version of Chrome or Firefox (browser); webcam.
- Laptop loaner programs
Laptops with webcam and microphone capabilities are available for borrowing on each UNG campus. Those who pay first will have access to the items first. You must submit a request using the Student Equipment Loaner form in order to borrow the laptop. Start by visiting https://auth.ung.edu/. Please sign in before proceeding to the next step. According to the University of North Georgia’s website, only requests made through the Student Equipment Loaner form will be honored, meaning you have no other option to borrow a laptop from the institution.
- Helpful technology
There are obstacles that may prevent students from having equal access to the technology they require. Identifying each of them with a Student Disability Service representative is effective in aiding the process of utilizing the proper technology. Each of them must be completed. The reason for this is that there are simply too many obstacles to list all of the available options. One thing to keep in mind is that technological accommodations are determined by the needs and abilities of the students.
