Cuyahoga Community College’s Aspire Program.
The Cuyahoga Community College offers classes for ambitious students. Individuals who desire to prepare for the Official High School Equivalency (GED and HiSET) test, enhance their math, reading, and writing abilities, transition to a job, training, or college, and obtain a career certification would benefit from these seminars. Aspire is available to 16-year-olds and older who have talents below the college level. At various times of the week, Cuyahoga County offers free workshops at various locations.
To begin classes for this course, you must first complete orientation. To register for an orientation session, you must click the red Register for Orientation button that may be located on the www.tri-c.edu website. You will receive a confirmation email containing information about your orientation session.
Classes are available in-person, online, and hybrid formats. You must have internet access and a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone to take virtual classes. Aspire Program at the University of Ohio
The Aspire program of the Ohio Department of Higher Education can assist adult learners in developing the skills necessary for employment or further education or training. If you are at least 16 years old and have less than a 12th grade education or its equivalent in Ohio.
Ohio’s Aspire program has been tremendously successful for over 50 years. The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) feels that expanded outreach and a renewed appeal to the personal and professional aspirations of adults are necessary.
Ohio University has implemented virtual classrooms and online distant education. If you are an active student, you can contact your instructor for additional information. However, if you are a new participant who is interested in fundamental skills or obtaining your GED, you can register using this link. Alternately, you can initiate orientation by calling one of their learning sites and speaking with an instructor.

Aspire education in Athens and Hocking counties provides free instruction to help you improve basic education abilities including reading, math, writing, and problem solving; prepare for the high school equivalency test; increase employability skills; and obtain accredited certification and training.

Southern State Community College’s Aspire Program
The Adult Opportunity Center (AOC) at Southern State Community College offers Aspire courses. These courses are offered on each school and in a few off-campus locations. It is free for anybody above the age of sixteen. You will also receive all textbooks and course materials, and there are no fees associated with instruction.
Classes are held in the morning, afternoon, and evening, and each venue is staffed by qualified instructors. These types of services are provided:
- Adult literacy
- Refresher/college readiness courses
- GED preparation and practice tests are included (it is only offered at the GED Testing Center)
- Nursing education preparation
- Improved reading, writing, and math
- Workforce training
After completing an assessment, you will collaborate with Aspire staff to design an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) that will assist you in identifying objectives and planning activities. ILPs are designed to assist you achieve your educational or professional goals.
The Apollo Career Center’s Aspire Program.
Adult students in Auglaize, Allen, Putnam, Mercer, Van Wert, and Paulding counties can access the free aspire program at several Apollo Career Center sites. With this program, you can earn a High School Equivalency (HSE) or High School Diploma; refresh academic skills in math, reading, or language; prepare for an industry credential program in Apollo’s Adult Education Programs; and develop career skills to obtain a job in demand or maintain your current position.
Aspire lessons are held at Apollo on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to noon, 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. You must attend the 3-day orientation in order to enroll in the program. You must bring a valid photo ID to orientation and come on time.
